Sylvia North felt a bit nervous looking out the window of their home. She as usual started to rotate her rings on her finger, when she noticed that one ring was missing. The ring her husband Ralph had given her, when he proposed to her. Not knowing what to do, she phoned her husband, and asked if he knew where the ring is. Which one of them, he asked. The ring you gave me when you proposed, she answered. Do you remember when you saw it last? Yes Ralph, it was last night here at home, when Peggy asked to look at it, and I took it of. Then Ann wanted to see it, and asked what a ring like this would cost. But I'm sure she gave it back. If the ring may have fallen down the sewer, I will take the pipes apart tonight, and check. Don't use that bathroom today. Some time later when Ralph together with several police officers where to apprehend a felon, George Hunt from North Street, Ralph among the stolen items they found in Georges home, found Sylvia's ring. He phoned up and told her the good news. But, he couldn't take it home as it was part of the merchandise taken from George. Lying as evidence at the station, it was removed by the cleaning crew. This started a number of people included as part owner of this elusive ring. A pawn shop owner that bought the ring from a Leonora Smart for $250.00 moved the ring to a better location that was robbed by a thief named Burt. He sold the ring to a fence named Ray Brown for $500. Burt with his now 500 called two friends and spent the money on beer. The fence Ray Brown contacted a bigger fence and offered Sylvia's ring together with six other rings to Ron Black that bought them from Ray Brown for a large sum. Then when Sylvia had been out to the mall, and was on the way home with some Chinese food the police had closed of part of her street, and Sylvia had to stay with a neighbor lady. The person the police were after, made a stupid move. He went up on a front lawn to get around the cops, but instead a went right into the front bumper of a cruiser. The steel bumper on the police car tore up the other car, and part of the car, and the stolen merchandise fell all over the street and Sylvia's driveway. When she was allowed to enter her own home, and parked her car in her driveway, she almost stepped on something. Looking down to her surprise it was her own elusive ring.
